HOUGHTON — The Michigan Tech Huskies soccer team held the No. 3 nationally-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers to one goal in the first half before ultimately dropping a 4-0 decision at Kearly Stadium on Sunday.
Grand Valley State (6-1-0, 3-0-0 GLIAC) totaled 34 shots with 13 shots on goal as Michigan Tech (1-6-1, 1-2-1 GLIAC) posted three shots with one on goal.
“We stuck with them at least for the first half and a good chunk in the second,” Huskies coach Melissa Kuhar said. “They’re a good team, and we gave up some silly goals in the second half. I think 1-0 at halftime is a positive and we’ll have another shot at them.”
Senior goalkeeper Ludesha Reynolds made the first start of the season, making nine saves while allowing four goals.
