More than 150 Scottish family members, supporters and brain tumour patients took part in a Walk of Hope in Motherwell to raise vital funds for research to find a cure for the disease.
The event saw participants create a sea of pink as they walked a five kilometre route through Strathclyde Country Park. Together, they raised more than £19,000 for the charity Brain Tumour Research, with donations still coming in.
Among the walkers was Julie McCarthy, a former primary school teacher from Lanarkshire who was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, a highly aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer, in 2023. Julie was joined by a dozen members of her family to support the cause.
