Bhubaneswar: A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the central parts of the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday (October 1), due to the emergence of an upper air cyclonic circulation into the north Andaman Sea.

The system is expected to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal by October 2.

As the system progresses, it is likely to cross the south Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts around the morning hours of October 3. In anticipation of this, a yellow warning has been issued for October 1, indicating potential heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 40-50 kmph in certain districts.
