The climbers – Mohammad Zahid, Yasir Khan, Faik Aijaz Pattoo, Muzakir Khan, Saqib, Umer Khan, and Arun – began their expedition on September 19 from Sonmarg. Five members belonged to Srinagar, Umer Khan was from Sopore, and Arun hailed from Kathua.
