An Oct. 4 performance by the Virginia National Ballet will kick off the 72nd season for the Danville Concert Association.
The all-volunteer organization touts itself as the region's oldest presenter of professional musical and performing artists from around the world.
The professional ballet company performs throughout the state and has grown to 25 dancers. It was founded in 2013 by directors Elysabeth Muscat and Rafik Hegab and launched as a small group with only six dancers.
There were only two performances yearly in the early days.
The Danville performance will have three parts, according to the concert association.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" premiered by Virginia National Ballet in 2017 and features the music of Queen. "Tango Nights" was premiered in 2021 and features
