The search for a stolen vehicle came to an end in Old Fort.
On Friday, Sept. 19, McDowell County Sheriff’s Office deputies, in collaboration with the Old Fort Police Department, arrested two suspects in connection with a stolen vehicle, according to a news release.
Deputies arrested Matthew Paul Smith, 30, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Amber Noelle Harr, 31, of Blountville, Tennessee, after finding a stolen vehicle and illegal drugs in the parking lot of a local business in Old Fort. The swift, multi-agency effort extended across state lines and resulted in both individuals being taken into custody.
Sheriff Ricky T. Buchanan praised his deputies, and the teamwork displayed during the operation. “This arrest highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies,” he
