DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - We are closing out the month with continued above-normal temperatures and little to no rain in sight.

Temperatures this time of year are in the low 70s on average, and by the end of September, we on average will have collected 2.90 inches of rain. However, this year, we are ending the month in the upper 80s near 90 degrees, and with barely over an inch of rain total for Decatur.

Today will only contribute to the abnormal pattern; highs this afternoon are in the upper 80s and low 90s, and we’ll be mostly sunny. Areas that see temperatures in the low 90s may approach their record highs. Tonight, skies dip into the low 60s and upper 50s.

A few clouds will build in tomorrow, but they’ll arrive without rain thanks to the dry air dominating the forecast aloft.
