Prosecutors in the murder case against Brian Walshe , the Cohasset man who allegedly killed and dismembered his wife, want a judge to implement a buffer zone keeping demonstrators a distance from the courthouse if they show up during his murder trial, records show.

The request was contained in a motion prosecutors filed Friday in Norfolk Superior Court, where Walshe is slated to go to trial on Oct. 20.

“Since 2023, Norfolk Superior Court has been the site of demonstrations at or near the courthouse,” prosecutors wrote in the filing. “The Commonwealth moves that in the event of any demonstration at or near the courthouse when trial jurors are present, the Court issue orders to minimize the possibility of juror exposure to extraneous matter, and to ensure that witnesses, attorneys, c
