As steady, light rain falls across North Carolina on Tuesday morning, Hurricane Imelda will begin pulling away from the East Coast.

Imelda, which never made landfall in the U.S., brought waves of rain to the state on Monday, but we'll see that rain become more scattered on Tuesday. The Tuesday morning commute will be wet, with the rain becoming more isolated in the afternoon.

The bulk of the rain we receive will fall by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, with rain ending around sunset. Damaging winds, flooding and power outages are not a concern from Imelda, although the coast will experience rough surf and rip currents for the remainder of the week .
