Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday reported that an upper air cyclonic circulation is persisting over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the central Bay of Bengal within the next 12 hours. The system is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal by October 2.
According to forecasts, the weather system will continue its west-northwestward movement and is likely to cross the south Odisha–north Andhra Pradesh coasts on the morning of October 3.
