COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Earlier this morning, Imelda strengthened into a Category 1 Hurricane with sustained winds of 75 MPH. It has started moving farther to the east, which means the clouds and showers across the Carolinas will fall apart later today.

As Imelda is brought farther out to sea in the wake of Hurricane Humberto, it is expected to strengthen. As it does, it likely brings heavy rain and strong winds to Bermuda by Wednesday night.

With the latest advisory, Humberto has weakened to a Category 2 Hurricane with sustained winds of 100 MPH. The size and strength of Humberto is acting like a magnet to Imelda, helping it move deeper into the Atlantic.
