An Aldergrove family is facing a long road to recovery after a house fire on Friday, Sept. 19, left a two-year-old child with severe burns and destroyed much of their home in the 6600-block of 272 Street.
Family friend Faith Arnold created a GoFundMe campaign to support the family.
“My best friend Braelynn and her two-year-old son have just survived every parent’s worst nightmare,” she wrote.
Township of Langley firefighters and RCMP responded quickly, but by the time crews arrived, the mother and her young son had already escaped the flames.
The fundraising page states that the child was airlifted to BC Children’s Hospital with burns covering 20 per cent of his body.
