Kathmandu (Nepal), 30/09/2025.- Nepal's newly appointed Living Goddess, Kumari Aryatara Shakya, 2 years old, looks on in her private home before she is formally taken to the Kumari House in Kathmandu, Nepal, 30 September 2025. Aryatara Shakya was appointed as the new Kumari after her predecessor, Trishna Shakya, retired upon reaching puberty. The Living Goddess is a young pre-pubescent girl considered an incarnation of the Hindu Goddess of Power, Kali. The Kumari retires when she reaches puberty.
