The Department of Justice states that 41-year-old Caesar Ross pleaded guilty in July 2024 to charges of firearms trafficking, distribution, and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. Over three months in 2020, Ross obtained 23 firearms with obliterated serial numbers from an individual in Florida, providing fentanyl in exchange.
Ross explicitly requested that the serial numbers be obliterated from the firearms, which he and his associates then distributed to individuals in Massachusetts who could not lawfully possess them. At least five of these firearms have been recovered in and around Boston in the
