ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A man from Bowie died in the hospital after he crashed into a telephone pole in Anne Arundel County, according to police.

On Sept. 29, around 8:30 p.m., officers with the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Ritchie Highway at W Ordnance Road.

There, police learned that a 2025 Kia K4 was traveling south on Ritchie Highway in the right travel lane when it left the road and slammed into a telephone pole.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Jonathan William Fowler, was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The crash remains under investigation.
