A cheque issued by a government school in Himachal Pradesh has gone viral for all the wrong reasons after it was riddled with spelling errors. The cheque, dated September 25, was reportedly made out to a mid-day worker but was rejected by the bank for its glaring mistakes.

The cheque was signed for an amount of Rs 7,616 in the name of Atter Singh. However, when it came to writing the numbers in words, the issuer seemed to stumble. Instead of spelling “seven” correctly, they wrote “saven.” Things only got more bizarre from there. Instead of “thousand,” the cheque carried the word “Thursday”. While “six” was written correctly, “hundred” was misspelled as “harendra.” Finally, “sixteen” was written as “sixty.”
