The capacity for the next women's Final Four is in Indianapolis is growing by 13,000.

The NCAA 's Division I Women's Basketball Committee voted to place the 2028 women's Final Four in Lucas Oil Stadium instead of Gainbridge Fieldhouse . Indianapolis will also host the Division II and Division III championships that year.

"With the interest we have seen, holding the women's Final Four in a larger venue in Indianapolis is a natural next step," Amanda Braun, athletic director at Milwaukee and chair of the committee, said.

The women's NCAA tournament will continue to use campus sites for First Four and first- and second-round games. In a news release, the committee said 85% of survey respondents favored keeping campus sites as opposed to using predetermined sites for the first week
