Mumbai, September 30, 2025 – At a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra government approved five significant decisions across health, industry, technology, energy, and judiciary.
To strengthen cancer treatment services across the state, the cabinet approved the establishment of the Maharashtra Cancer Care, Research and Education Foundation (MAHACARE). Under a three-tier structure, 18 hospitals will provide advanced facilities including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, diagnostics, surgeries, palliative care, and research. Tata Memorial Hospital will serve as the apex Level-1 centre, with six government medical colleges designated as Level-2, and nine hospitals as Level-3 centres.
