A Mexican marine biologist is recovering after he was attacked by a shark while working off the coast of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica’s Fire Department said Mauricio Hoyos, 48, was attacked by a shark on Saturday, Sept. 27, sustaining injuries to his head, face and arms, according to the Associated Press .
