Ohio State Senator Beth Liston, D-Dublin, decided to pull out of what was called by the Jerusalem Post as the largest-ever delegation of United States lawmakers traveling to Israel over concerns of being used as “propaganda”
Liston announced the decision on Sept. 12, just one day before she was scheduled to leave with her fellow politicians, on X. Her five-part thread went viral, amassing over three million views.
“I have canceled a planned legislative trip to Israel,” she stated in the post. “My hope had been to learn and ask tough questions of Israeli government actions, particularly related to humanitarian aid in Gaza. I am grateful to the constituents who helped me see the harm of this approach.”
