The 2025 MLB playoffs are underway Tuesday, beginning with the Wild Card round.

The American League features two series between between divisional rivals, with the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians clashing on one side of the bracket, and the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox going at it on the other. In the National League, the Cincinnati Reds play the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the San Diego Padres face the Chicago Cubs.

At BetMGM, the higher seed opened as a favorite in each matchup except for the 3-versus-6 series between Detroit and Cleveland, where each team had identical -110 odds before the 6-seed Tigers were bet up to -120. And they aren't the only team opening on the road who bettors like.

The +105 Padres have received 66 percent of bets and 70 percent of money at BetMGM to win their series over the Cubs. And the +145 Red Sox have received 62 percent of bets and 60 percent of the handle to win their series over the Yankees.

The only favorite bettors like in the Wild Card round is the Dodgers, who were picked on 51 percent of tickets to win with 90 percent of the handle on LA.
