President Donald Trump's son Eric bizarrely claimed in a meltdown on the right-wing Newsmax channel that the Biden administration schemed behind the scenes to destroy his dad's marriage.

The claim, made on the Rob Schmitt Tonight show and flagged by The Daily Beast on Tuesday, was part of a long string of grievances, many of them misleading or outright imagined, that the younger Trump made as purported examples of the former president's administration trying to exact political retribution on their family.

“They posted his mugshot. He’s the most recognizable person in the world. They posted his mugshot even though they didn’t need to. It totally backfired on him," said Eric, possibly confusing the federal charges against Trump, which did not release a mug shot publicly, with his indictment for election racketeering by the Fulton County, Georgia district attorney, which did.

"They gagged him over and over and over! They raided his home! They raided Mar-a-Lago! They tried to get him divorced! They tried to separate our family! They tried to go after our employees! They attacked us. They tried to bankrupt our company. They de-platformed us! They stripped every bank account away from me and the Trump Organization that you can imagine.”

It is unclear what Eric, who heads up much of the Trump Organization's operations, is talking about when he says the Biden administration tried to sabotage his father's marriage.

He may have been referring to the criminal conviction against Trump for falsifying business records to cover up hush payments about his affair with an adult film star, the details of which would presumably strain his marriage — but those charges were brought by a county prosecutor in New York, not by the Biden administration.

Regardless, Eric's allegation comes amid years of reports by journalists and biographers that the president's marriage has been in a rocky state. The president and First Lady Melania Trump were seen bitterly arguing aboard Marine One at the end of last month following the United Nations General Assembly.
