NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Planned Parenthood is officially closing its doors in Louisiana on Tuesday, Sept. 30, ending more than four decades of operations in the state.

The organization’s Baton Rouge clinic on Government Street and New Orleans clinic on South Claiborne Avenue will shut down permanently.

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast President and CEO Melaney Linton said the decision was forced by “relentless political assaults” from Louisiana officials and lawmakers, but that the “fight for freedom continues.”
