A man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing Silver Lane in East Hartford over the weekend has died, according to police.

Officers responded to the 700 block of Silver Lane on Saturday just before 7:30 p.m. for a report of a serious crash.

Investigators said 60-year-old William Drouin, of East Hartford, was crossing Silver Lane on foot when he was struck by a vehicle.

He was treated by firefighters at the scene and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver involved in the collision is cooperating with police. The investigation is active and is ongoing.
