A returned astronaut had a surprise when she gazed out of a passenger plane window and saw a rocket she had recently ridden.
NASA spacewoman Anne McClain watched a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket rise into the sky as her plane left Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday, Sept. 28.
She said: “What’re the chances?! I looked out my airplane window and saw a very familiar sight.
“Turns out, my departure from LAX was perfectly timed to see a SpaceX Falcon 9 Starlink launch from California.
“Hard to believe it’s only been 6 months since I took that same ride!”
A former Army helicopter pilot, McClain has logged more than 200 days in orbit during her missions to the International Space Station .
