Relax, baseball fans: The New York Yankees are not picking on Canadians.

They’re not banning them from their stadium in the Bronx and they won’t have you removed for wearing a Blue Jays jersey or hat should you get tickets for a playoff game that, by the way, the Yanks have yet to qualify for.

In fact, despite all the contrived outrage at the team’s ticket policy for a pair of potential American League Division Series next week at Yankee Stadium, it’s relatively common practice for any number of professional sports teams.

First things first: The Yankees have to get by the Boston Red Sox in a best-of-three wild-card series that begins on Tuesday night in the Bronx. The winner faces the Jays in the best-of-five ALDS, which begins with two games at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Saturday.
