HAYS, Kan. (KAKE) - A procession is escorting a 32-year-old Hays police officer back home on Tuesday, two days after he was killed in the line of duty .

The dignified transfer for Sgt. Scott Heimann began in Wichita just after noon near English and Washington and made its way to northbound I-135. Once it reaches Salina, the escort will head west on I-70 to Hays.
