Health officials have recently confirmed three new measles cases in the Twin Cities area.

The Minnesota Department of Health said the confirmed cases are each in unvaccinated children in Dakota County with no history of recent travel.

The agency says health officials believe the children were exposed to measles from an unvaccinated family member who'd recently traveled domestically and reported measles-like symptoms, but was not tested.

MDH and local health departments have been working to contact those who might've been exposed to one of the recently confirmed cases.

Minnesota has so far detected eight cases of measles in 2025, including a case in a child who visited Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America while potentially contagious in late May.
