The Hawks got on the board early in the second period with a shorthanded goal by Justin Skirten after a scoreless first period. Rourke McEwan doubled Exeter’s lead four minutes later, and the Hawks skated into the third period with a 2-0 advantage. Article content

Petrolia finally got on the board about 12 minutes into the third period, but the Hawks scored three power-play goals — two from Harrison Meulensteen and another by Danny Scott — to secure the win.
