The National Hockey League will be back in downtown Boise on Tuesday night.
The Utah Mammoth and Los Angeles Kings are set to face off in a preseason match Tuesday at Idaho Central Arena.
It marks the second time in three years that there has been an NHL preseason game at the arena, home to the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. The Vegas Golden Knights and Phoenix Coyotes played their final preseason game at Idaho Central Arena in 2022, with Vegas winning 5-1.
In 2024, the Coyotes’ hockey assets were sold to Utah businessman Ryan Smith, who also owns the Utah Jazz and used to set up the NHL team in Salt Lake City. The team played as the Utah Hockey Club last season before being rebranded as the Mammoth in May.
