The Mt. Hope High School girls' soccer club closed last week with commanding 4-1 victory over host Cranston West Thursday, Sept. 25, in a Division I contest.

West netted the opening tally in the ninth minute on a cross and a shot from distance. Mt. Hope answered just three minutes later. Catherine Frawley won a scrum just inside her own end, then passed Huskies' Brooke Avila side touched a feed to Sarah Nenka, who next beat her defender 1-v-1 over some 40 yards being slipping a shot low to the keeper's left to tie the score.

The locals scored late in the first half to move ahead. Off a Thea Jackson throw, Nenka was fouled inside the box. Emma Goglia went to the spot for the ensuing penalty kick, using her left foot to pooch a shot into the upper right side of goal to make 2
