SPRINGFIELD — A holiday tradition loved by Western Massachusetts bakers of all ages, the Springfield Museums’ annual Gingerbread Exhibit is taking a trip to the Mesozoic Era this year.

Bakers are encouraged to work individually or in groups to bring “Jurassic Gingerbread,” the Museums’ 16th annual holiday exhibit, to life. No experience is required, but all entries must be original — that means no gingerbread kits are allowed.

“Dinosaurs have sparked wonder for generations, starring in blockbuster movies, inspiring endless research, and capturing the imagination of kids and adults alike,” the Springfield Museums shared in a post on Facebook announcing this year’s theme.
