To close or not to close?

That’s the question at the Rogers Centre this weekend as the stadium gets ready to host their first playoff games in three years. Some might tell you that the Blue Jays fate will be decided by matchups, hot streaks or luck but the numbers suggest it might also be hanging on the roof.

The comforts of the dome were good to the Jays this year as they sported the best home record in the American League at 54-27 for a .667 winning percentage. The team went 27-10 when they played under the Toronto skyline, good for a winning percentage of .729.

The team was still successful under a closed dome, at 27-17 in 44 games for a .614 winning percentage, just not as good.
