ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man is in custody for throwing pieces of asphalt from an overpass onto cars traveling on Interstate 44.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the crime happened on Sunday, Sept. 29, on the Arsenal overpass at I-44.

Police said the victim was driving on the interstate when he heard a noise like something striking his car. He looked up and saw a man up the side of the roadway.

The victim eventually turned around and went back to the spot where his car was hit. He saw the same man standing with his arm raised, holding something in his hand.
