LUFKIN, Texas — Lufkin ISD is mourning the tragic death of one of their staff killed in a car crash.

Morgan Wright, a speech pathologist and the wife of Wells ISD superintendent Friday Wright, was killed after she was struck during a crash involving a 16-year-old evading police in a stolen truck.

The district shared the statement below:

It is with heartfelt condolences that Lufkin ISD shares the tragic passing of our beloved Speech Pathologist, Morgan Wright.

Mrs. Wright was a true treasure to our district, touching countless lives with care and dedication. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be profoundly missed.
