According to Cal Fire Amador-El Dorado Unit, Giblin came across the blaze while it was active and immediately checked to ensure the occupants were safe. He then grabbed a fire extinguisher from his personal vehicle and attempted to knock down the flames.

Giblin shared important information and assisted crews when they arrived. Cal Fire said he showed courage, quick thinking and dedication that the firefighters bring to the community.
