A father in the greater Dallas area is accused of beating his child to death against the infant's crib, authorities in Texas have announced.

Jordan Greer, 22, has been charged with capital murder in his baby's death, the Mesquite Police Department announced .

On Sept. 18, just after 5 p.m., police arrived at a home on the 5800 block of Northwest Drive in the city just east of Dallas. They had reportedly been told that a "small child was unconscious and not breathing."
