As the clock winds down on a potential government shutdown , the impact could be felt in Florida since the federal government plays a huge role in the operation of airports across the country.

If there is a partial shutdown, airport operations could be slowed down, which can cause delays.

Lawmakers have until midnight to agree on a deal that will keep the government open, and healthcare tax credits and medical insurance funding are part of the stalemate.

South Florida insurance agent Joseph Mustipher said his clients will suffer.

"If the enhanced tax credits are not approved, and right now we do not know whether there’s going to be a shutdown, there are basically 4.2 million people [who] will not be able to afford health insurance," he said.
