The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued Greenville-based WorkSmart Staffing, alleging the company refused to refer women for certain jobs to satisfy a client’s demand for male-only workers.

The lawsuit, filed Sept. 29 in the Northern Division of Alabama's District Court, seeks a jury trial and a financial payout to the women denied referral to an Alabama company, TCI Recycling.
