The search continued Tuesday for a convicted murderer mistakenly released from a Miami-Dade jail over the weekend as new details were being learned about his criminal past and what led to him being set free.
James Edward Daniels has been a free man since Saturday, when officials with the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department said a "procedural error" led to his release from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, also known as TGK.
The 60-year-old in March was sentenced to life in prison by a federal judge following his conviction in a 2020 double murder in Miami-Dade .
