FLORIDA – A First Amendment group is pushing for federal appeals courts to release a report on criminal investigations into President Donald Trump and his handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

The case stems from the president's possession of classified documents found in a bathroom at Mar-a-Lago. The FBI conducted a raid, but the charges against Trump were dismissed last year.

A volume of special counsel Jack Smith's final report on the case remains sealed due to a district judge's order. The case accused Trump of hoarding classified documents in Florida and not returning them to the government upon request.
