SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Documents reveal that the man believed to have crashed into a Latter-day Saint meetinghouse in Michigan may have had a history of DUI in Utah.
Four Latter-day Saints are dead, and several others sustained injuries, after a man identified as Thomas Jacob Sanford, born in July 1985, drove through the front doors of the church, fired an assault rifle at hundreds of people gathered inside, and deliberately started the building on fire.
Court documents show that on March 12, 2010, Thomas Sanford, born on July 29, 1985, was arrested and booked on a Class B Misdemeanor for impaired driving in the Summit County Jail.
