MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Town of Oak Grove announced it has received more than half a million dollars toward town improvement projects, including replacing water lines, park upgrades and more.

Mayor Hubert Rollinson, Jr., said Oak Grove received the following grants:

$540,000 to replace water lines

$50,000 for a new police department vehicle

$75,000 for park improvements

$35,000 to replace electric panels at Water Wells #1 and #2

Rollinson said he plans to apply for more grants to progress the community even further.

“Please know that grant funding is very competitive, and funds are limited,” Rollinson said. “From time to time, we may ask for your letters of support or pictures of brown water to include with applications -- your help makes a difference.”
