WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KOLO) - A Winnemucca man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex trafficking a 15-year-old girl from Colorado to Nevada.

Tyler Monson will serve 10 years of parole after the DOJ says he had sexual contact with the girl after meeting each other on social media.

The DOJ says that from Dec. 31, 2024 to January 2, 2025 Monson communicated with the girl, who lived in Littleton, Colorado, via Snapchat. During the conversation, Monson told the girl he was 16 and also lived in Colorado.

Monson and the victim exchanged nude photos, and Monson sent the victim $2,000 on Venmo.

They agreed to meet in person, and Monson traveled from Nevada to Colorado to have sexual contact with the victim. While traveling with the victim, Monson sexually assaulted the victim several tim
