Ever since Josh Hauge was hired as the Union College men’s hockey coach in April 2022, the team has been steadily moving up the standings. The Garnet Chargers finished in a three-way tie for seventh in 2022-23 (they were seeded eighth for the ECACH tournament), finished sixth in 2023-24 and placed fourth and earned an ECACH tournament first-round bye for the first time since 2017-18.

After being picked to finish eighth by the ECACH coaches in their preseason poll in each of the last three seasons, the Garnet Chargers are predicted to finish fifth in this season’s poll, which was announced last Tuesday.
