DEWITT, Ill. -- Baby, a Boston terrier that had been missing from her home in Farmer City for more than a month, was rescued from an unusual place on Tuesday.

Grace Moore is the Animal Control Administrator at the DeWitt County Animal Shelter. Moore said that some employees were at a Farmer City home that was set to be demolished, when they heard a dog barking.

After checking, they found a dog at the bottom of a well at the back of the property.

"When we got there, we couldn’t believe our eyes! The dog in the well is Baby, a Boston terrier that has been missing from the Farmer City area for six weeks! And only a couple blocks from her home! Warden Sullivan climbed down to the rescue, picked her up, and brought her to safety," Moore wrote in a post on Facebook.
