BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Tuesday is the last day of operation for Planned Parenthood health centers in Louisiana.
Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast announced in August that the Baton Rouge and New Orleans locations would close after Sept. 30. President and CEO Melaney Linton said the closures are "a direct result of relentless political assaults."
"Anti-reproductive health lawmakers obsessed with power and control have spent decades fighting the concept that people deserve to control their own bodies. These extremists have done everything they can to ‘defund’ Planned Parenthood, dismantle public health infrastructure, and block patients from the care they rely on," Linton said.
A list of medical providers was shared by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.
