WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - Andrew Showers, a 37-year-old priest from Madison, appeared in Waupaca County Court via Zoom on Tuesday for three separate charges: • Attempted use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime • Attempted child enticement • Attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of sixteen.
During the initial appearance on September 30, Showers waived his rights to a preliminary hearing.
Showers did not enter a plea to the charges, so the court entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
The judge continued Showers' $10,000 cash bond with an adjustment proposed by Showers' attorney, Christopher Van Wagner, stating that Showers cannot have any unsupervised contact with minors.
Previously, Showers was not allowed to have contact directly or indir
