A Sarnia man has been sentenced to more than six months in jail for repeatedly breaking into industrial areas of the city to steal copper wire.

Brock Holman’s lawyer, Terry Brandon, told the judge he uses the tools with which he was caught breaking in for legitimate uses in the construction trade and he doesn’t have any addiction issues.

Justice Mark Poland said that make it more difficult to understand the crime, which often is linked to a drug addiction.

“I don’t know what’s going on with you, Mr. Holman, but it’s probably time for you to be honest with yourself here about what exactly is going on in your life,” he said.
