Miami Dolphins officially waive Cam Smith

Stashed on the reserve/non-football illness list to open the season, Smith received word Tuesday he is being waived. Two years remain on the cornerback’s contract, but he has not shown much since being drafted highly. The team announced the move.

Overhauling their operation at corner this offseason, the Dolphins had expressed some hope Smith could step up. Chosen with the team’s top draft choice in 2023, the former No. 51 overall pick has only played 153 career snaps.
